Linux Mint 18.2 Sonya KDE and Xfce Images for VirtualBox and VMware
Linux Mint project recently announced the final version available in Cinnamon and Mate editions of Linux Mint 18.2 codenamed “Sonya” based on Ubuntu 16.04.2 LTS. “Linux Mint 18.2 is a long term support release which will be supported until 2021. It comes with updated software and brings refinements and many new features to make your desktop experience more comfortable to use. The Update Manager received many improvements. It still has the same mission and tackles the same issues as before (keeping your computer safe, providing bug fixes and protecting you from regressions) but it presents things slightly differently. This release ships with the KDE Plasma 5.8 desktop environment. This release ships with linux-firmware 1.157.10 and the Linux kernel 4.8.0-53. Xfce improvements: The Whisker application menu was upgraded to version 1.7.2: Launchers can now be edited from the context menu; Desktop actions are now supported; Category names can be hidden in the preferences; Applications load immediately; This new version also brings translation updates and bug fixes.
